MSR Houston announces the opening of our brand-new premier karting facility
The kart track at MSR Houston is now open for business. The 1,200-meter, 8-meter wide course has already received rave reviews from members and visitors alike. The course can be split to run simultaneously as two 600-meter tracks, the Monza loop and the Monaco loop. One of the highlighted features of the track is an 18-degree graduated banked turn. The course has a total of 17 turns and an 1,100-foot straight. In addition to the track, construction is current underway for the kart building. Within the facility, there will be storage for over 125 karts as well as a full-service kart shop and race team. There will be locker rooms for men and women, a timing and scoring tower and an observation deck. The facility offers everything from arrive and drive programs to corporate events using rental karts. The track also has 19 rental karts. There are 12 CRG Spit Fire concession karts and four Cadets CRG Spit Fire concession karts. Members and visitors can experience the track in our 9 horsepower, four-stroke concession karts. The track also has three CRG Dark Rider DD2 race karts for rent. The track will host a local series with one to two races per month. The local series will be a Rotax National qualifying series for 2008. The track will host the final round of the Southwest Regions Cup September 27-28, 2008, as well as the awards banquet. |
